Case Study 5

Giant Size X-Men 1

When this comic arrived, it was a little distorted from the waves and ripples that are fairly common with older square-bound comics. It also had a number of light creases and finger bends.

Once we had softened the grease pencil mark and removed as much of the traces of finger oils and light stacking dirt , we set about getting the comic to lay flat once more and be wave free. After we had finished, the only disturbances left to the comic once were where the staples protruded just below the surface of the cover.

'Not bad for a book I bought 30 years ago for £75 from Harley Yee at the London Comic Mart.

Thanks to the masterful work of James Gower
at the Comic clinic and the great guys at Scott’s collectables for their awesome service!! I’m stoked with the grade' - L Makwana
